You can make a difference in the lives of our children by giving a tax-deductible donation. Through our programs/services, PSFC supports our community's most vulnerable families and ensures that their children are ready for school, motivated to learn and prepared for success in life. For every $1 invested in early education, there is a $7 rate of return...a great investment!

Your gift may be designated to support a program listed below, or to address another expense such as area of greatest need. Just click on the drop-down options and donate button at the right. Ways your gift makes a difference...

The Mountain Center
Our new building in Coolbaugh Township has truly become an educational and community services center, assisting clients/residents from Pre-K students to moms and grandparents. Half the center houses various health and human service agencies, while the other half is home to 10 classrooms for children from birth through grade 3. We offer a growing number of programs for parents and families, and our gym/multipurpose room are in constant use by local groups. And we keep meeting the needs of more and more people! For instance: offering employment options through AARP, children’s nutrition assistance via WIC, housing rehab assistance from Habitat for Humanity, resources and counseling at Women’s Resources, and senior socialization through MCAOA’s Senior Activity Center.

Moving forward, we need everyone to join us in our Capital Campaign to raise $5 million for supporting our facility, programs and future plans, as well as paying off our mortgage. We are almost half way to our goal and encourage you to get us to the finish line! By providing the highest quality early education andcare for many vulnerable children, along with vital services from community partners, we will be making life-changing differences – with your financial help. Thank you!

Emergency Aid for PSFC Families
We provide for this help through our Food for Families and Energy Assistance programs. When financial resources are low, our families must make difficult choices between buying fuel for their vehicle, transporting their child to school, buying medicine or food. The choice often has a tragic domino effect of missing work, keeping children out of school or foregoing needed medicine. By providing a "food card" we are able to assist these families to sustain their regular routine until pay day and help them avert potential crisis. Additionally, it is heartbreaking for our family advocates, on home visits on cold winter days, to discover a family with no heat at all. Through this program, we are often able to help our families with utility bills and to negotiate payments with the provider, if power needs to be restored or heating oil delivered. Children can hardly be expected to be successful in school when basic human needs at home are going unmet.

Classroom Supplies and Nutritious Meals/Snacks
The cost of supplies and new technology for our classes and teachers keeps increasing every year. The cost of healthy food for our preschoolers' breakfast, lunch and snacks is also getting more expensive. Donations to these categories will keep our children's academic success and nutritional needs on track.

PSFC Scholarship Foundation
Through this Foundation, we are able to provide placement in our classrooms for income eligible children who, due to state and county funding reductions, may otherwise be excluded. Scholarships are also offered to former Head Start students enrolled in educational opportunities beyond high school. Applicants complete a scholarship application including documentation of need, career goals and benefits of attending Head Start as a child. The PSFC Scholarship Committee reviews all applications received and makes recommendations regarding the awards.
