Facility Update 3.24.2020

March 24,2020

Dear Y Members and Families,

Since its inception in 1914, the Pocono Family YMCA has provided life changing and vitally needed programs for our members and community. During the past week we had to close our facility until further notice and suspend all programs in response to Coronavirus (Covid-19) and the State of Emergency declared by Governor Tom Wolf.

The "Y" is a vital not for profit organization and we need your continued support during these challenging times. We are asking you to please keep your membership active and remain enrolled in our programs. We are planning to reopen our facility and resume programs as soon as the State of Emergency Restrictions are lifted. For now, here is what we can share:

  • Membership: Due to the uncertainty of when the YMCA will be permitted to open again, we have been placing memberships on hold (freeze) only upon request.  If you would like to consider your monthly payment a charitable donation, it is tax deductible. We thank you for your support and ask that you contact Steffanie Bush, Co-Director of Operations sbush@poconoymca.org if you have any further questions. As we get information and direction from the health authorities, we will communicate updates.

  • School Age Childcare (SACC): For those families with children in the YMCA After School Program, your credit card will not be charged for current care that you have not received. If you have any further questions, please contact jahmed@poconoymca.org

  • Swim Lessons and Youth Sports:  For those enrolled in youth sports and swimming lessons you will receive a credit towards the next program session.

  • Cleaning:  The YMCA has performed an intensive cleaning and sanitizing of our main facility and may conduct maintenance projects now instead of when we are usually shutdown at the end of August.

On behalf of our Board of Directors, Leadership Team & Staff Team, we are looking forward to reopening and serving you and our community.

Your Pocono Family YMCA Leadership Team
